How it works: Reply STOP to any text message you receive from NotifiUs.
What happens:
- You immediately stop receiving all messages
- You receive a confirmation text that you’ve successfully opted out
- Your treatment center is automatically notified of your opt-out
- This method works 24/7, even outside business hours
Example: When you receive “Hi John, please remember to complete your medication check today,” simply reply “STOP”
Confirmation message you’ll receive: “You have successfully opted out of NotifiUs SMS messages. Your care team has been notified. To restart, contact your treatment center.
Method 2: Contact Your Treatment Center
How it works: Call or visit your treatment center and ask them to remove you from SMS messaging.
Who can help:
- Your primary counselor or therapist
- Designated administrative staff
- Designated and licensed treatment center employee
What they’ll do:
- Immediately remove you from the SMS system
- Document your opt-out preference in your treatment record
- Discuss alternative communication methods if desired
- Answer any questions about continuing your treatment without SMS
This is a good option if:

What Happens When You Opt-Out

- Have your opt-out preference documented in your treatment record
- Still have access to all other treatment services and support
Important Notes:
- Your treatment center will be notified that you’ve requested to opt out of SMS communications

- Opting out does not affect any other aspect of your treatment or care
- There are no penalties or negative consequences for choosing to opt out
Restarting SMS Service Later
Changed your mind? No problem! If you opt out and later decide you want to receive SMS treatment support again:
- Contact your treatment center counselor during your next appointment or by phone
- Give your verbal consent again to restart the service
- Confirm your current mobile phone number (in case it has changed)
- SMS messages will restart within 24 hours of your new consent
You can opt in and out as many times as needed to find what works best for your recovery journey.
